Towards the New Ruralism is a senior thesis essay written for Social Studies at Harvard University. It contributes to the growing transdisciplinary field of rural studies by providing a stratigraphic analysis of rural thinking in American society. History, ethnography, social theory, cultural studies, and landscape studies combine to portray six vignettes in the rural northeast.
